Quarrying includes following steps:
• removing the stone from the mountain
• cutting the stone into slices
• cutting and finishing of squared blocks.

This process requires properly trained staff and specialized equipment. Specific detonating fuses and diamond wires are carefully selected based on the quarry being operated in and the materials worked on.

The historical Beola Grigia quarry is located in Croppo di Trontano. The Beola Bianca and Beola Ghiandonata quarry, known as Pianasca, is situated in Villadossola, at the beginning of Antrona Valley. The Serizzo quarries are located further north, in the Antogorio and Formazza Valleys.
