IL SERIZZO ANTIGORIO PASSO

|
Grey,medium-to-fine grained ortogneiss, which gives the rock its orbicular uniform aspect.
The schistose texture is highlighted by layers of dark mica "biotite" that they produce to pervasive laminations due to the strong iso-orientation of mica foils. These can be observed by analysing with an petographic microscope.
The macroscopic aspect is therefore highlighted by the uniform design from the typical differentiation in continuous millimetric levels that highlight the typical gneiss layering in the ortogneiss from Antigorio.
The above mentioned petrographic features and the medium-fine grain of minerals gives an elegant aspect to the rock, which looks massive at the same time.
The rock is in fact recognised as the finest and most precious "Antigorio" for the characteristics of image associated to the specific dowries of own intrinsic, compactness and resistence of the crystalline structur, that favor a wide one use, not only in building industry.
